Monks’ Bar, a unique bar run by monks in Shinjuku, Tokyo

Hello! I would like to introduce “Monk’s Bar” located in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Bohu Bar is a hideaway restaurant located a few minutes’ walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station. The interior of the bar is full of Japanese taste, and the lighting and interior design are carefully selected. Also, as the name suggests, many of the owners and staff have shaved heads, giving the bar a very unique atmosphere.

At the entrance, a kimono reminiscent of a temple welcomes visitors.

The menu offers a wide variety of sake, shochu, beer, and many other types of alcohol. The names of the alcoholic beverages are also unique. As is typical of Buddhism, the names of heaven and hell are lined up.

The restaurant is mainly counter seating, and is recommended for solo diners or couples on a date. We also have private rooms that can be used for small parties, etc. Please feel free to consult with our staff.

The interior of the restaurant is decorated with sutras on the ceiling and a Buddhist altar, giving a sense of Japanese Buddhism.

We highly recommend “Monk’s Bar” to those who want to enjoy good drinks and food and a unique atmosphere in Shinjuku. Why not pay a visit?
